Struggling to make your next big, strategic decision?

What’s that costing your nonprofit?

Time, dollars, respect - they all add up. If you aren't being intentional about your organization's future, it's time to take a pause and listen.

Due for a strategic plan but it just doesn't feel right?

If you are stalling on starting a strategic plan, it may be a sign that the process doesn't match the current state of your organization and you need to take a step back with a pre-strategic planning process.

Are you finding one person making every decision for your organization unsustainable?

Impactful leaders still have their own limitations when it comes to growth. At some point, their super-human trajectory grows the organization to a level where you need to rely on others to make decisions. Define your organization from its leader and establish more collaborative decision-making.

Is your team spinning its wheels on big decisions, costing you time and growth?

You need to know how your community will react to strategic changes you are considering. Stay ahead of the fears by knowing deal-breakers, where you have the strongest support, and what education is needed to avoid misunderstandings.

I’m Emily Taylor.

I use my analytic and objective listening skills to give you the power to make strategic decisions that include your community. Like holding up a mirror, my process lets you see your organization beyond your bubble and know how to avoid the fears, miscommunication, and perceptions that keep your organization from growing.

From people needing housing to CEOs, teachers to politicians, learning people’s motivations and how they make sense of complex issues is my passion. In a world often centered on divisiveness, competition, or disagreements that prevent us from moving forward, my unique blend of skills and knowledge allows you to discover what decisions can bring your community together to solve old (or new) problems in creative ways.

My experience in consumer research, nonprofit leadership, and human-centered methods means you can rely on me to bring an objective ear and strategic approach to the listening process to help you find what matters most in decision-making.

“Two years later, we are still referencing what we learned about engaging our audience from teenyBIG’s work. It’s given us a deeper understanding of them, more so than we’ve ever gotten from surveys and focus groups.”

— Head of Knowledge Management, The Morton Arboretum

Strategic decisions require a skilled, data-driven listener—someone curious, pragmatic, and thoughtful who understands that people-problems are always bigger than “just the numbers.” That’s what I bring to our work!

Don’t leave your blinders on
